Our painting holidays on Menorca take place in stunning locations on this beautiful unspoiled island. We place a total emphasis on enjoyment and the holidays are open to all levels. Denise Allen, our course tutor, has a gentle and informative teaching manner and no one is ever made to feel out of their depth. Along with the painting itself, fine food/wine, a truly lovely holiday base and good company are a major part of this holiday. During the holiday, you’ll paint at 5 different and distinct locations, each showing a different aspect of Menorca.
Your course tutor - Denise Allen
Our course tutor is, once again, the lovely Denise Allen and we are delighted to welcome her back to work with us for the 12th consecutive year. The ideal painting teacher should be a combination of creative brilliance, great communication and an ability to connect with their pupils. Denise has all of these attributes and our painting holiday guests often describe it as like being taught to paint by your best friend. Whilst being a professional working artist, she is just as at home passing on her skills to others and her attitude to teaching is refreshingly unpretentious. She says "Whether you've worked steadily for years to develop your drawing skills or haven’t picked up a brush since leaving school, I believe that I can provide new insights and tips on techniques that will enable you to make progress as an artist." Denise has appeared on the Painting and Drawing Channel, when she featured in the series, "Fraser & Friends". She also regularly works with the SAA and demonstrates at the "All About Art" show in London.
Our holiday base
The holiday base for the week is the wonderful Hotel Playa Santandria set in the charming little cove of the same name. The hotel itself is literally on the beach and just 20 metres from the water’s edge. Whilst Cala Santandria has a quiet and peaceful feel, there are 5 or 6 good bar/restaurants within a 5-minute walk and the hotel has a lovely little bar/restaurant of its own. This bright and breezy hotel is family owned and has an adult only policy. Its rooms are bright and modern, with an ample terrace and the showers are fantastic. Facilities include a huge sea facing sun terrace, a small outdoor swimming pool and compact gym. The breakfast room is also faces out to sea and offers spectacular views.
The food on our holidays
We pay particular attention to this aspect of our holidays and our guests often tell us that we should market the holiday as an outdoor and gastronomic experience. During the holiday we eat at several different restaurants, all having been personally selected by your holiday hosts. Without blowing our own trumpet, the food and wine (which is included and unlimited) are way ahead of what you’d normally expect on this type of holiday.

- This holiday is open to both couples and singles, but a single supplement of £15 per night is payable on this specific holiday.
