Our easy walking holidays on Menorca are open to couples and singles alike and are to be enjoyed not endured. This holiday offers a combination of stunning and fully guided easy walking, wonderful food and wine, all based at a charming hotel set right on the beach in the stunning bay of Cala Santandria.
The walks
It would be a crime not to take advantage of Menorca’s beautiful coastline and most of our walks take place right next to the sparkling blue Med. Some of the highlights of these walks are stunning little bays, wonderful beaches and timeless fishing villages. We also stroll through lush ravines or “barrancs” as they are called locally. In either case, Menorca is a charming walking destination and a surprise waits around every corner. All walks are of around 3-4 miles, lightly undulating and taken at a comfortable pace. We always have 2 guides in attendance and a backup vehicle is close by, should anyone need a lift. It also carries chilled drinking water, along with tea and coffee, which we enjoy halfway around the walk.
Our holiday base
Our holiday base for the week is the wonderful Hotel Playa Santandria set in the charming little cove of the same name. The hotel itself is literally on the beach and just 20 metres from the water’s edge. Whilst Cala Santandria is quiet and peaceful, there are 5 or 6 good bars/restaurants within a 5-minute walk and the hotel has a lovely little bar/restaurant of its own. Hotel Playa Santandria is family owned and has an adult only policy. Its rooms are bright and modern, with an ample terrace and the showers are fantastic. General facilities include a huge sea facing sun terrace, a small outdoor swimming pool and compact gym. The breakfast room is also sea facing and offers spectacular views.
The food
The food on offer during this holiday is amazing and, without blowing our own trumpet, way above the level that you’d expect for an activity holiday. It’s an area that we pay a great deal of attention to and many of our guests describe our holidays as an outdoor and gastronomic experience. During your time with us, we’ll eat at 6 different restaurants that have been hand picked by us. As well as great food, the wine is great as well and as much as you like is included in the holiday price.
