Walking for Singles on Menorca
Menorca is a fantastic destination for a singles walking holiday. One of the safest places you can imagine, it has a seductive quality that brings people back time and time again. A combination of beautiful quiet beaches, hidden bays, lush green countryside and unspoiled villages make Menorca special. Highlights of this holiday include beautiful, almost deserted, beaches, quiet coves and magnificent birdlife. The walking is obviously the most important thing about this holiday, but almost of equal significance are great lunches (with wine included) and a great camaraderie amongst the group.
The comfortable 6 mile walks take place on the “Cami de Cavalls” or “Path of Horses”. This 120 mile circular path was built by the Moors in the 13th century when it was used to warn against potential foreign invasions. Later, it was improved by the English, French and Spanish to join up a series of 18th century watchtowers, which also had a defensive role. In recent years, it’s been restored to former glories and is a fantastic way to see Menorca on foot. During our walking holidays on Menorca, we walk on coastal paths, forest tracks and through lush green countryside, all of which form part of the Path of Horses. Your comfort is important to us and, for this reason, we always have 2 guides with the group. There is also a backup vehicle in attendance should somebody need a lift.
The Tramontana Park hotel is new for 2019, but has very much been on our radar for a number of years. Set in the charming and typically Spanish resort of Playa de Fornells, the hotel almost has the feel of a village within a village. Right on the water’s edge and only a short walk from the nearest beach, the hotel is a perfect base for a walking holiday. All of our guests have their own modern apartment with kitchen/diner, bathroom and a small terrace. The hotel has its own intimate bar and there are 3 or 4 more within a 10 minute stroll. Just around the corner is the famous Isabella’s
which offers stunning sunset views to be enjoyed with a gin and tonic or mojito in hand. The picture postcard village of Fornells
is just a short bus ride away or a stroll across the cliff tops. Here’s a link
to the hotel’s home page, which includes a short video showing Tramontana Park in all its glory.
