Just to bring you up to date with some of the projects that we're thinking of launching during the next 18 months.
Let's get started with the most immediate stuff and then move forward:
1) During week of Friday 14 December 2018, we're seriously thinking about organising a pre Christmas walking week based from the stunning city of Palma, Mallorca. Given that the holiday centre is the island's capital, with its excellent connections, we'll be cherry picking the best routes from the whole of Mallorca and not just from a single zone. Palma is stunning at this time of the year. The Christmas lights, plus general atmosphere of the city is special and, aside from the walking, it could be an excellent opportunity to pick up last minute Christmas presents. The hotel we're using is the beautifully located Hotel Saratoga, which is right in the middle of Palma's posh shops and upmarket bars/restaurants. This holiday is only a strong possibility at the moment and initially we will be looking for no more than 6 couples. Please let us know if you'd be interested in joining us and we'll add your name to a waiting list, with a view to getting in touch should we go ahead. Sorry singles, but this is a couples only thing at the moment. We are, however, actively looking for a hotel that will give us a decent deal for single occupancy and will let you know if we find this.
2) The proposed date for our 2018 New Year's walking holiday on Menorca is week of Friday 28 December . Last year, as you probably know, Monarch Airlines went bankrupt and we were left with no direct flights between the UK and Menorca. Easyjet will almost definitely be providing a direct service on the above date, although have yet to confirm. With this in mind, we won't be asking anyone to sign in blood at this stage. However, we would appreciate you sending us an email expressing a "possible" interest in joining us. This holiday is open to both couples and singles.
3) We've known some of you for nearly 15 years now and the march of time has begun to take its effect on weary limbs. With this in mind, next year we're going to be running a "softer week" for those who don't want to be walking 6 or 7 miles a day. The holiday, taking place during week of May 31 2019 on Menorca, will feature 3 to 4 mile walks, taken at an easy pace and with plenty of time to enjoy the scenery. We've always considered ourselves to be at the comfort end of the walking holiday market, however, many of you have become friends over the years and we don't want to lose you just yet. This holiday won't be appearing on the website until the summer as it's nearly 15 months away. With this in mind, just a general interest would be sufficient at this stage.
4) There's also a possibility that we're going to organise a "Learn everyday Spanish" walking week on Menorca at the end of October 2019 and we'd be interested in knowing if anyone out there would be interested in some light walking, whilst learning some fun everyday Spanish. Good food and wine would of course be a significant part of the week.
If any of the above looks interesting to you, just drop us a line and we'll add you to a list with a view to confirming when we go ahead with the above projects.
